Hello,

My cyberspace connectedness is 200 mbps, going from cable modem to TP-Link Archer C7 V2 AC1750 over PPPoE. I have True cat 6 cable from the router to my laptop with 'Intel(R) 82577LM Gigabit Network Adapter' and Windows ten. The commuter Properties -> Advanced -> Speed & Duplex is ready to 'Motorcar Negotiation'.

This manner I expect the 'Speed' in Ethernet Status -> General to be shown as i Gbps, but it stays at 100 Mbps. I tried changing 'Speed & Duplex' to ane.0 Gbps Full Duplex, but that disconnects the adapter and the network connection does not piece of work.

Is it possible to get i Gbps link using this setup? How?

how long is the true cat 6 cablevision from the router to your laptop?
try another cable?
Once again pitiful for the belatedly reply. The cablevision is less than 10 meters.

I take establish the culprit, it was the connectors. The crimping was redone properly and now everything is okay! Thanks for all the replies :)

Really 200 Mbps is no where almost 1Gbps. 1Gbps is 1024Mbps. (or simply chiliad you exercise the cheap shortcut that most companies at present use.)

So, if your internet connection is 200Mbps, then the max yous tin go is 200Mbps. It can't be 1Gpbs. It showing only 100 could be that you lot are getting less than you are paying for (happens a lot). Yous would have to test it through a dissimilar device to be sure. It could exist your modem/router is non performance correctly to become said speed, or is even not capable. Or information technology could be your computer is not capable of said speed.

So commencement you need to cheque the devices to brand certain it isn't them. If all devices only become the 100 no matter what modem/router, device, etc., you lot use, then I would contact your ISP every bit the problem may exist with them.

Perhaps I should have mentioned this already: I'm getting shut to 200 Mbps using 5 GHz WiFi (802.11 air conditioning) on my Android telephone. It is the wired connection to my laptop which seems to be somehow capped at 100 Mbps. How tin can this be fixed?

OK so then information technology isn't the ISP. Then it sounds like your problem may be the laptop. Since you did not mention what laptop information technology is, I can't say what the specs on information technology are. I suggest you look into the specs for it to see what limitations it may have.

My laptop is HP Elitebook 8540w with 'Intel(R) 82577LM Gigabit Network Adapter'. Since the proper name says 'Gigabit', I call up it should support 1 Gbps. Isn't this so?

I see. And then yes if it says it is up to 1GB and so it should support upwards to that. Even so, once more, information technology won't go higher than you lot are paying for, which is the 200.

rgd1101 is correct. I would advise the directly connection.

You may also want to check the modem settings.

Apologies for a tardily respond. I tried a straight connection to the router and it works like a amuse! I go full 200 mbps link. It seems to exist a connector crimping issue. What do you guys think?
